Jas Hothi’s team aim to get back to winning ways at home to struggling Great Totham

Jas Hothi’s Rainham will be desperate to put a frustrating weekend behind them when they host Great Totham in the Mid-Essex League Division One tomorrow (Saturday).

The Spring Farm Park club saw their match with Writtle abandoned after only five overs due to poor weather.

Dipal Patel claimed the only wicket to fall, while Jon O’Neill recorded economical figures of 0-8 from his three overs.

Writtle’s innings ended on 20-1 and it left both clubs frustrated in their pursuit of points in the division.

Due to Rainham’s abandonment, Aythorpe Roding were able to leapfrog them in the league and reclaim first position.

Roding managed to win at Great Totham and now hold a 19-point advantage at the top.

Second-placed Rainham will seek a return to winning ways at home to Totham tomorrow and will be hoping the weather can hold off, as they look to get their title bid back on track.
