Anthony Downes’ team were unable to back up their Woodham Mortimer victory at Terling last weekend

Havering-atte-Bower saw their inconsistent form in the T-Rippon Mid-Essex League Division Two continue at the weekend against Terling.

Anthony Downes’ side visited the strugglers looking to back up a solid win over Woodham Mortimer last time out on July 21.

It proved to be a frustrating afternoon for the Broxhill Road club, however, as they lost by five wickets.

After batting first, Havering could only manage 199-7 and Terling got home with 10 balls of their innings left.

The loss leaves them fifth in the table and 50 points off the side in second place – South Weald.

Heading into the final five weeks of the campaign, the Broxhill Road club will need to put together a strong run of form to reignite their faint hopes of promotion.

Downes will aim to see it start on Saturday at home to bottom of the table Rayleigh Fairview.

In the previous meeting between the sides back on June 2, Havering won by 10 wickets chasing just 149 to win and they will hope for another victory this weekend.
