Captain Anthony Downes will hope to see his team bounce back this weekend

Havering-atte-Bower face another tricky clash in the T-Rippon Mid-Essex League Division Two on Saturday away to Burnham Sports.

After losing to second-placed South Weald last weekend, Anthony Downes’ team have dropped to fifth in the table.

Sports are two spots above Havering in third and on 240 points from 15 league games while the Broxhill Road club have 220 to their name.

A victory on Saturday for Downes’ men would boost their chances of finishing in third place, but promotion looks out of the question now.

The last time Havering did battle with Burnham, back on June 16 at Broxhill Road, the away side won by six wickets.

Sports chased down 247 to win and it was the start of a poor run of form for Downes’ team.

Havering have lost five of their eight games since the loss to Burnham including a reverse on Saturday to South Weald.

Visiting Weald batted first at Broxhill Road and posted 250-9 off their 45 overs and the hosts could only manage 93 all out in reply from 35.3 overs.
