Mike Chapman passes away on holiday

Harold Wood Cricket Club are sad to announce the death of long-standing member Mike Chapman. He was 81.

Chapman, a former club president from 1978-2005, died while on holiday in New Zealand last weekend.

He also served as secretary from 1963-68 and 1972-73 and, as a player, represented the lower XIs at the club and claimed 221 wickets.

Chapman also went on to play for Westcliff and was key member of the Essex Cricket Association and heavily involved in the organisation of Essex cricket.

He leaves a wife Gill and daughter Amy. Details of the funeral not yet available.
