GPR drew with Woodford Wells last weekend

Gidea Park & Romford welcome Belhus in the Shepherd Neame Essex League Division One on Saturday, bidding to make it three games in a row without defeat.

Last weekend saw Park play out a draw on their trip to Woodford Wells, despite a strong all-round display.

After winning the toss, Park elected to bat and were able to reach 292-7 before the end of their innings.

George Rogers top scored with 118 for GPR, while skipper Jamal Francis (70) and Sam Hewitt (54) both contributed half-centuries.

Park were unable to make an early breakthrough as Wells reached 85 without loss, but then saw eight wickets tumble for the addition of just 68 runs.

However, GPR were unable to take the final two wickets as Wells closed on 182-8 in reply.

Sadiqullah Kamal (3-11) and Sam O’Sullivan (3-61) both took three wickets apiece for Park in the draw.

The GPR pair will hope to get among the wickets again this weekend as Park look to return to winning ways and climb the standings with a victory when they entertain Belhus.
