Gidea Park & Romford got back on track in Shepherd Neame Essex League Division One with victory at Buckhurst Hill.

Well beaten in their derby by Harold Wood a week earlier, Park produced a better batting display after captain Jamal Francis won the toss.

They had to overcome an early collapse to 27-3, though, before Shavawn Cunningham (35), Sam Hewitt (38), Sam O’Sullivan (41) and Aditya Kumar (23) lifted the total to 210-9 after 50 overs.

O’Sullivan dismissed the dangerous Hendro Puchert cheaply in reply, with Kumar also picking up an early wicket.

But the home side looked well placed as they reached 111-2, before Francis ran out Russell Beckett.

Adam McKie (2-23) struck twice in quick succession to make it 127-5, before Sadiqullah Kamal claimed three wickets in a short space of time to put Park firmly on top.

Francis claimed the ninth wicket to fall, before Kamal (4-24) completed a 37-run win for the visitors.
