Park lost by 132 runs at Belhus last time out

Gidea Park & Romford will look to move out of the Shepehrd Neame Essex League Division One relegation zone by getting the better of local rivals Harold Wood on Saturday.

The two sides from the London Borough of Havering are due to meet at Gallows Corner this weekend.

GPR head into their derby date off the back of a 132-run defeat away to Belhus last Saturday.

Park were put into the field after losing the toss and saw their hosts close on 277-8, despite Sam Hewitt taking 3-52.

GPR’s reply never got going, though, and they were dismissed for 145 with 28 from George Rogers the top score.

The defeat saw Park drop into the relegation zone with five games to go in the current season.

But GPR will hope to return to a position of safety this weekend by claiming bragging rights against at home to borough rivals Harold Wood.

A win could be just the spark Park need to stay up.
