GPR lost by seven wickets at bottom-club Woodford Wells last weekend

Gidea Park & Romford will look to avoid a fourth straight defeat in the Shepherd Neame Essex League Division One when they visit Belhus on Saturday.

Last weekend saw Park suffer a seven-wicket defeat away to bottom-club Woodford Wells.

Batting first after winning the toss, GPR closed on 208-9 with a knock of 53 from skipper Jamal Francis the top score.

Despite Sam Hewitt, Aditya Kumar and Andrew Churchill each taking a wicket for Park, Wells completed their chase inside 43 overs.

It was no doubt a disappointing afternoon for GPR as they slipped to within four points of the relegation zone.

Francis will be hoping his side can produce an improved display on Saturday and get the better of Belhus.

GPR narrowly avoided a defeat when the sides met earlier in the season in May, but Francis will want a win on Saturday to ease any relegation fears his side may have.
