Old Brentwoods were relegated to Division Three following a 90-run defeat against Horndon.

Captain Khalid Sarwar put the home side into bat after winning the toss, but then saw Horndon’s openers put on 109.

Mo Amin made the breakthrough, with Ramesh Gunalan having success at the other end to leave the hosts 142-3.

Surjeet Ubhi claimed three wickets for just three runs as Horndon’s middle order fell away, with Gunalan (3-39) grabbing another scalp.

And Ubhi struck again to complete a 5-33 haul before Sarwar claimed the final Horndon wicket as they wre dismissed for 203 in the 50th over.

Ubhi and Raheel Ahmed (28) put on 40 for the first Brentwoods wicket in reply, but the visitors slipped to 63-4.

And although Imran Hussain, Amin and Kalim Khan all reached double figures, Brentwoods were dismissed for 113 in 43 overs, as Harry James (3-19), Muhammad Asif (3-25) and Jeff West (3-29) combined to good effect for Horndon.
