Hutton had to settle for the runners-up spot behind Hainault in Essex League Division Two despite their final-day derby win at relegated Old Brentwoods.

Captain Dan Hagger chose to bat first, but was one of three early wickets to fall as his side slipped to 15-3.

James Mowll helped Vivian Paver steady the ship, but the visitors found themselves 67-5 as Arsalan Khan and Khalid Sarwar added to the earlier scalps for Kalim Khan (2-23) and Ishaq Khan.

Australian Paver put on 94 with Jonathan Mowll (33) and eventually fell to Sarwar (3-17) for 106 from 104 balls, having hit three sixes and six fours.

Hutton declared on 191-7 at that point and saw Mitchell Fenn (2-27) make early inroads in the Brentwoods reply.

Baber Choudhary made 44 for the home side, but was one of five victims for Jon Hammond (5-30), who sealed an 83-run win.

Paver nabbed 2-4 as Hutton finished three points behind champions Hainault.
