Harold Wood had to settle for a draw with Division One rivals Buckhurst Hill.

But their 11-point haul leaves them 10 clear of the drop zone, after relegation rivals South Woodford lost to leaders Orsett.

Mdaminul Isalm Shihan made a quick 32 after captain Richard Brabner chose to bat first, with Afra Malik (65) putting on 90 for the third wicket with Raihan Hussain (52).

Maruf Chowdhury hit an unbeaten 49 from just 34 balls, including three sixes and three fours, and put on 66 with Craig Sampson (31) as Wood declared on 260-6 from 49 overs.

Shahbaz Khan (2-36) struck two early blows with the ball in Buckhurst Hill’s reply to leave them 55-2, but Jamie Allen added 104 for the third wicket with opener Hendro Puchert.

Wasim Khalid (2-69) and Chowdhury (4-67) had success as the visitors were reduced to 203-7, with Puchert finally out for 120 from 134 balls as they eventually closed on 236-8 from 46 overs.
