A round-up of the action in Essex Division Two
The promotion clash between Oakfield Parkonians and Gidea Park became nothing more than a damp squib after the wet weather took hold.
Sam Hewitt (56) and Shawn Findlay (53) both hit half centuries for the visitors, who posted 220-9 from their 50 overs.
Selvam Ramasamy (2-28), Abdul Razzaq (2-33) and Raghav Chopra (2-49) all nabbed braces to restrict Oakfield to a low score.
In reply, Jibram Azam went for a first-ball duck, with Matt Connaughton taking a catch off the bowling of James Pegram for the only wicket.
Haris Khan hit an unbeaten 40 before play was brought to an early end, with the teams sharing the spoils.
Hutton, meanwhile, clambered up to fourth following an eight-run win via the Duckworth/Lewis method at home to Wickford.
Choosing to bat first, opener Daniel Hagger hit 116 as the host closed on 261-8 from their 50 overs.
The Wickford reply was stunted by rain, but having been set 120 from 23 overs to win, Basildon won after figures of 3-31 from Daniel Carpenter.
Rain prevented Hainault and Harlow Town from finding a result, with the sides sharing the spoils.
Rameez Rehman hit 30 for Hainault before play was brough to an early close with the hosts 104-2.
