A round-up of the latest matches involving Hornchurch teams

Rainham moved to the top of Mid-Essex Division One with a 29-run win at home to local rivals Hornchurch Athletic.

After being put in to bat, Rainham saw opener Jas Hothi top score with 34, but he, along with Biren Patel (20), Garnet Shallow (33) and Jon O’Neill (15), was one of just four home batsmen to reach double figures as the hosts were restricted to 139-9.

However, the home bowling attack performed brilliantly, as O’Neill took 3-23 to keep Athletic to 110-9 in reply.

The win took Rainham to the top of the table, but only two points clear of Aythorpe Roding.

There was also joy for Rainham thirds on Saturday as they beat Willow Herbs Blackmore by 87 runs.

Batting first, Rainham racked up a score of 216-5, with opener Joe Attfield responsible for 79 of those runs.

Adam Savery then took 4-22 with the ball as Rainham bowled Willow Herbs out for just 129 in reply.
