Green face T20 decider

Essex T20

Friday

Orsett v Ardleigh Green

A trip to Upminster in the quarter-finals awaits the winners of this clash.

Green eased to a nine-wicket success at Horndon last Friday, but should find Orsett a tougher proposition at School Lane.

Saturday

SNEL Premier Division

Loughton v Ardleigh Green

Green dropped back into the relegation zone following their eight-wicket defeat at title-chasing Brentwood last weekend.

But they trail Loughton by just a single point going into their vital clash this weekend.

Green won by five wickets when the two sides met in a 50-over clash at Central Park on the opening day of the season and captain Chris Cook will be hoping his men can repeat the trick in the timed return.

Division 1

Buckhurst Hill v Harold Wood

Lowly Wood visit table-topping Hill in desperate need of points in their struggle to avoid a quick return to Division Two.

Rizwan Qureshi’s men fell to defeat Fives last weekend and lie 15 points adrift of Chingford and safety as the second half of the season gets underway.

Wood have shown improved form in recent weeks, though, and will travel in good spirits.

Chingford v Upminster

Derby defeat against Hornchurch saw Upminster fall 12 points behind second-placed Shenfield in the promotion race last weekend.

Ollie Peck’s men received a midweek boost with T20 victory over Harold Wood, which clinched a quarter-final berth.

And they will be out for revenge against a Chingford side who won by 12 runs when the two sides met on the opening day of the season.

Hadleigh v GP & Romford

Troubled Park lie 23 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table after their most recent defeat against Chingford.

Chris Collier scored an impressive century last weekend, but Park slipped to a one-wicket defeat against their fellow strugglers.

Hadleigh, meanwhile, are enjoying a good campaign following promotion and won by six wickets when these two sides met at Gallows Corner on opening day.

Hornchurch v Orsett

Captain Paul Murray wants Hornchurch to build on last weekend’s derby success at Upminster.

His inconsistent side are 36 points off a promotion place at the season’s midway point, but Murray believes a string of wins now could force them back into the race.

And they need no incentive for the visit of Orsett, having fallen to a 60-run defeat at School Lane in early May.
