Saturday

SNEL Premier Division

Ardleigh Green v Woodford Wells

Green remain bottom of the table with a third of the season gone, still searching for their first league win of the summer.

But they ended a five-match losing streak with a battling draw at Shenfield last weekend and will look to break their duck back at their Central Park base.

Spinners Ricky Gill and Chamikara Mudalige will be key men during the timed matches over the next two months and captain Chris Cook will hope they can haul his side away from the drop zone.

Division 1

Hornchurch v Hainault

Skittled out for just 51 at Chingford last weekend, Hornchurch now find themselves just above the bottom two.

It was a third successive defeat for Chris Sains’ side and they need to stop the rot quickly.

Hainault were held to a draw by lowly Loughton last weekend, but have some dangerous performers in captain Zoheb Sharif, Suleman Qadir and Mo Ismail.

Upminster v Loughton

Inconsistent Upminster suffered their third defeat of the season at Hadleigh last weekend.

The 50-run reverse brought an end to their three-match winning streak, but captain Ollie Peck will hope his men can bounce back at lowly Loughton.

Having lost to Premier Division outfit South Woodford in the league cup, Peck’s men can now focus solely on their promotion bid with two-thirds of the season still to go.

Division 2

Gidea Park & Romford v Horndon

Park were left extremely frustrated after collecting only four points from last weekend’s weather-affected draw with Leigh.

Vinayak Mane’s maiden five-wicket haul held the seasiders to 188-8, but Park came up 54 runs short in a truncated chase.

Captain Chris Collier will be looking for his men to get back on track against Horndon, who fell to defeat against Harold Wood last weekend.

Harold Wood v Leigh

Wood moved back up to second with their four-wicket success at Horndon.

Shaz Hafeez and Shahbaz Khan played leading roles with ball and bat and captain Tom Clarke will hope his side can put some daylight between themselves and third-placed Leigh this weekend.
