A round-up of the latest matches involving Bentley teams

Bentley have lost their T. Rippon Mid-Essex Premier Division crown — despite beating leaders Springfield by 29 runs.

Batting first after losing the toss, Bentley were all out for 158 despite a knock of 64 from Ash Parmenter for the visitors.

Parmenter then took 3-18 with the ball to restrict Springfield to 129-8 in the reply, but the hosts had collected the bonus points they needed to secure the title.

Bentley play host Goresbrook in their final league game of the current season on Saturday.

Bentley seconds, meanwhile, saw their losing run in Division One continue after going down by 68 runs at home to Great Totham firsts.

Chasing 301-8, the hosts were kept to 233-8 in reply despite Gavin Hammond top scoring with 46.

In Division Six, the thirds were beaten by nine wickets at home to St Andrews in a disappointing game that saw Bentley dismissed for a paltry 77.
