A round-up of the latest matches involving Bentley teams

Bentley suffered a first defeat of the T. Rippon Mid-Essex League Premier Division season after losing by four wickets at home to Springfield.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Coxtie Green Road side reached 254-8 thanks in part to a superb 98 from opener Tom Johnson.

Matt Coleman then took 4-42 with the ball to check Springfield’s progress, but the visitors were able to complete a successful chase.

Bentley will bid to bounce back away to Goresbrook this weekend.

The seconds also suffered a defeat as they went down by eight wickets at Great Totham firsts in Division One.

After being bowled out for 116, Bentley were always up against it and though Jack Meadows took 2-29, Great Totham got over the line with 25 overs to spare.

The seconds head for Great Baddow seconds this Saturday.

In Division six, the third team suffered a heavy 298-run loss despite figures of 6-72 from George Alavoine.
