Upminster duo Christina Allen and Jennifer Spencer-Adkins booked their place in the quarter-finals of the county pairs on Wednesday.

The pairs competition takes place over just a few days and the Upminster ladies had to be consistent in their form.

They began with a tough match against Rainham pair Sue Wild and Veronica Boylan where they sneaked through 18-15.

They were given a walkover n the next round, before taking on Pat Ellis and Elain Abbott of the Liberty of Havering club.

They won 23-18 to book an area final place against another powerful Rainham team in June Lineham and Shirley Bell who had stormed through the bottom half.

Their clash on Wednesday night went to the Upminster duo by 25-11.

They now go to the neutral green at Great Baddow on Sunday where they take on Sue Kemp and Brenda Bowyer of Essex County, with the semi-final scheduled for later the same day.
