Four pupils from Coopers Coborn School helped Essex win the East under-17 regional hockey competition at the University of East Anglia in Norwich.
The event had been postponed earlier in the year due to snow and the teams were greeted with high temperatures at the weekend.
But despite the hot day, the Essex girls recorded four wins out of six matches to finish top of the group and claim the title.
Coopers’ Bethan Isherwood captained the side and scored two goals along the way, while Felicity Galbally produced several assists from crosses from the wing in a tireless display.
Lucia James was solid in defence, consistenly breaking down rival attacks, while Adelaide Thatcher-Gray made some superb saves in goal.
