Clacton trip proves a great success

Brentwood Bowls Club do love to be beside the season, especially when they are winning on the green as well as taking in the sunshine.

The club made a beeline for Clacton-on-Sea for their annual friendly on Friday and after morning coffee in the Greensward Café across the road from the club, as well a stroll on the prom, they were ready for action.

Six triples took part and though scores aren’t always important in friendlies, men’s captain Fred Wasmuth could not help revealing the team won 121-61.

Top rink on the day were Joan Stevenson, Brian Martin and Ron Lofts who triumphed by some 30 shots, while the others on parade were Patrick Miller, Ann Powell, Byron Davies, Peter Smith, Sandra Fenton, Richard Rose, Les Powell, Trevor Pedley, Maureen Jaycock, Alan Medcraft, Margaret Rayment, Wasmuth, Maureen Lofts, Cliff Jaycock and Kate Davies.

Same time next year?!
