Rainham fighter to return to ring

Joe Mullender will be looking for his seventh win in eight fights when he is featured in a 10-round contest on the Goodwin Promotion at York Hall tomorrow week (September 27).

Rainham resident Mullender, originally from Brentwood, has been training hard at Jamie Williams’ Legends Gym in Romford as he waits for the name of his opponent to be confirmed.

And the hard-hitting crowd pleaser will return to the ring having won the British Masters super-middleweight title in his last fight in July, beating Diego Burton on points over 10 rounds when he was cheered to victory by his enthusiastic supporting squad at the iconic Bethnal Green venue.

The 28-year-old Mullender bounced back from defeat in his previous bout when he was outpointed by Sweden-based Ugandan Michael Obin for the International Masters middleweight belt.

Mullender goes for his latest win on a bill that features Grays prospect Lee Markham against former Commonwealth champion Bradley Pryce, plus Michael Lomax’s clash with Chas Symonds and bouts featuring brothers Chris and Andreas Evangelou, Matthew Chanda and Ben Hall.
