Boxing: Another first-round KO win for Fisher
PUBLISHED: 16:30 13 December 2018
Romford’s Johnny Fisher produced another impressive first-round knockout on the latest Exeter University ABC show.
Former Marshalls Park pupil Fisher took on local Exeter rival Richard Aston and forced a stoppage after just 30 seconds, when a left hook sent his opponent to the canvas.
It was a second first-round win in the space of three weeks for Fisher, who will now rest up during the Christmas holidays and look to box in the Bucks Championships in February.
Meanwhile, super-welterweight prospect Hamzah Sheeraz looks to maintain his unbeaten record and end the year on a winning note on Saturday.
The six foot tall, 19-year-old Sheeraz is trained by veteran coach Lenny Butcher at Harold Hill’s Five Star gym and will be looking to make it six wins in a row at the Brentwood Centre, in front of his big fan following.
Heavyweight Daniel Dubois has been forced off the Frank Warren bill with flu, but Sunny Edwards, Harvey Horn, James Branch and Bradley Skeete remain on a show to be screened on BT Sport. Tickets at ticketmaster.co.uk.
