Greyhound of the Year Farloe Tango is the star turn at Newcastle tomorrow night as Charlie Lister’s superstar aims to play the lead supporting role to finals night of the Pin Point Festival at the Byker track, live on SIS/Sky Sports.
The brilliant St Leger winner runs in the 706m event at 7.34pm on a card which features four valuable finals worth between £1,500 and £3,000, with the Pin Point Recruitment Standard final featuring a clash between Derby contenders Mileheight Alba and Pay Freeze.
The night has been sponsored by local greyhound owner Alan Findlay’s Pin Point recruitment and Healthcare company.
A passionate north-east greyhound man, he has owned star greyhounds like Mill Pinpoint, who won the All England Cup at Newcastle a few years back, a race widely regarded as the north-east Derby.
Tuesday is the culmination of a brand new 10-day Pin Point festival of racing with competitions over a variety of distances, and increased prize-money also for local owners and trainers with support for the graded races during the period.
