The latest news from the Havering ‘90 Joggers club

Havering ‘90 Joggers’ Ann Sears reached a milestone on Saturday as she took part in her 250th parkrun event.

Sears’ first event was back on New Year’s Day in 2013 in what was the first parkrun in Harrow Lodge Park.

As well as Sears, 37 other club members took part in various parkrun events over the weekend, with new course records for Maria Brill, Linda Cooper and Andi Wright.

Parkrun organise free, weekly 5k timed runs around the world and more information can be found at

Joggers members Brian Cross, Caroline Cross and Keith Monaghan, meanwhile, all set new distance bests at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10k.

Club members Martin Chester and Rob Trevor donned Havering Athletics colours to help their team to third in a cross-country relay event.

Havering ‘90 Joggers meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start at the Abbs Cross Health & Fitness Centre.
