Harold Wood Running Club take part in charity walk

Harold Wood Running Club members presented a cheque worth £2,000 to each of their chosen charities from their five mile charity race Havering Mind and Havering Alzheimer’s Society.

Elsewhere, the ELVIS series came to an end with Adam Bartlett finishing second overall in the men’s category, while Ruth Quince came second in her age category.

The second fixture of the Chingford League took place with plenty of club members involved.

Ilona Alaburda completed a 5k run in Bangalore, with Ian Grant, Chris King and James Coker completing the Leigh-on-sea 10k and Amanda Harris completed the Mencap 5K in Hyde Park.

18 other members took part in local park runs including Basildon, Hackney Marshes, Harrow Lodge and Raphael with Patrick Thoeung (21.52) Lauren McInerney (27.35), Joy Reid (29.47), Steph Elsey (33.00) and Claire Wilson (33.38) all achieving personal best’s.
