The latest news from the Havering ‘90 Joggers club

Havering ‘90 Joggers member Andrew Wright celebrated his 50th birthday by taking part in the Ox Epic Challenge in Salisbury.

Wright was also able to persuade club colleagues Neil Moses, Alan Wicks and Andy Ennis to travel with him to Wiltshire.

The night before the Ox Epic Challenge, the quartet embarked on a six-mile warm-up run, dressed as Darth Vaders and Storm Troopers, complete with light sabres.

In the Ox Epic Challenge itself, the runners were subjected to a 50-mile run on what was described as an extremely hilly and undulating course.

Wright, Moses and Wicks were able to complete eight laps of the course, though later inspection revealed the route to have been under-measured, with the group instead running 54 miles.

Ennis, meanwhile, completed 33 miles of the course having completed five laps of the circuit..

Despite the gruelling efforts of their time in Wiltshire, the group are already on the lookout for their next challenge.
