Killerwhales shine at Swim England national championships

The events, held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, brought together the nation's top-ranked swimmers to compete at the highest level of British and English swimming.

Representing Killerwhales were Alanna H, Emily S, Joshua K, Kai B, Kai O'CB, Poppy J, Sean M, Shane G and Stanley P.

Qualifying for these championships is a remarkable achievement, requiring swimmers to post some of the fastest long-course times in the country.

Only the highest-ranked athletes in each age group receive an invitation to compete.

The Killerwhales squad rose to the occasion, producing outstanding performances against Britain's elite swimmers.

Across the championships, the team reached numerous finals, recorded a host of personal bests and returned home with an impressive medal haul.

Alanna H delivered two exceptional performances to win bronze medals in both the 50m and 200m backstroke events.

Kai B enjoyed a fantastic championship, claiming bronze in the SB8 MC 100m breaststroke while once again breaking the British Para-Swimming long-course record in the event.

He continued his outstanding form with a sensational swim to secure gold in the MC 100m freestyle.

Sean M also impressed, taking bronze in the highly competitive 200m individual medley.

Poppy J capped an excellent season by qualifying not only for the British National Championships in the 1500m freestyle, but also for the Open Water National Age Group Championships.

She completed the demanding 7.5km race to finish 10th in her age group.

The club is immensely proud of every swimmer who represented Killerwhales with distinction.

Their dedication, hard work and commitment throughout the season have helped deliver one of the most successful national championship campaigns in the club's history and provided an inspiring platform for future success.
