Hornchurch Athletic climbed to sixth place in Essex League Division Two after a superb all-round team performance secured an impressive victory over Neo at Hylands Park.

The star of the day was Josh Telemaque, who made a major contribution with both bat and ball.

Telemaque smashed 88 runs to help Athletic post a formidable total, while Paul Humphries added a patient 43 and Fazi Hussain struck an aggressive 64 as the hosts reached 241.

Neo looked well-placed to chase down their target and appeared on course for victory when they required just 22 more runs with three wickets in hand and plenty of overs remaining.

However, Telemaque had other ideas.

The left-arm quick produced a remarkable over, claiming three wickets to turn the match on its head and seal a dramatic 20-run victory for Athletic.

Humphries also impressed with the ball, taking four wickets to play a key role in the win.

It was a perfect weekend for the club, with all four of Athletic's other senior sides also recording victories.

The second team travelled to Woodford Green and successfully chased down a target of 180 to win by seven wickets.

A Azizi anchored the innings with an unbeaten 75.

There was also a century for Sushant Kapur as the third team defeated Hornchurch fourths.

Kapur's 106 helped Athletic post 257 before they completed a convincing 123-run victory.

The fourth team also enjoyed success, with Abs Chowdhury leading the way with 93 in a 48-run win over Newham.

Meanwhile, Steve Richards finished unbeaten on 71 as the fifth team secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory to complete a clean sweep of wins for Hornchurch Athletic across all five sides.
