The Havering Southern Athletic League senior team finished their first season in Division 1 with a fifth place in their fixture at Norwich on Saturday, which was always going to be tough as all five opposing teams were above them in the 18-strong league table.
The ladies' squad scored solidly with some good results in the blustery conditions.
Under-17 Orla Friel impressed with a dominant performance to win the 1500m steeplechase from gun to tape in only her third run over the barriers, improving her PB in the process.

She later added a PB with the senior javelin PB for second in the B string.
Another win came from Alicia Fairmaner, who improved her best with a long jump victory, and she was a good second in the 100m too, while training partner Cassie Campbell won the B string 100m.
Claire Brennan had a trio of second places in the A 100m hurdles and pole vault, and the B 400m hurdles, while sister Nina won the pole vault B and added hammer and shot points.
Another points maximum for the ladies came from Under-17 Eboni Roach, who won the B discus and was third in the shot, as was her senior partner Katie Ennis, who was third in the discus and added valuable points in the shot, hammer, and javelin.
Top three track points came from Maddie Barker, who was runner-up in the 800m, and Under-17 Poppy Vines, who was third in the 1500m, while on the field, another Under-17, Jasmine Asmal, was B triple jump runner-up after scoring in the 1500m and 400m hurdles, while Stephanie Osuala’s season’s best placed her third in the A triple jump.
Osuala later joined Fairmaner, Campbell, and Under-17 Jessie Lynes in the third-placed sprint relay team.
A special mention went to Rebecca O’Rourke, who tackled the 5000m for the first time after her 800m run.
The only wins for the short-handed men's squad came with a double victory in the pole vault for the duo of Luke Williams and Arron Bonning.
Isaac Ogunalade was runner-up in the A 400m, and Louis Berrett was third in the B. Other sprint third places came from Under-17s Max Adeosun in the 100m and Ryan Alexander in the 200m, after placing second in the high jump.
There were more points in the javelin as Toby Bishop was second in the B string, after a return to his previous 400m hurdles speciality, while Under-17 Sam Burdett was third in the A javelin.
Rob Trevor was close to his 1500m best in placing third in the B string, while Jason Lendon improved the M50 club record for the 2000m steeplechase.
The fifth-place finish, after placing second, fourth, and fifth in the earlier three fixtures, was enough to confirm that the promoted Havering team have earned another season in this very competitive top Southern Division.
Richard Akinyebo again improved his club 100m record as he clocked a legal 10.16at the BFTTA Open at Lee Valley on Saturday, a tenth inside his previous legal mark.
Richard started the season with a legal best of 10.30, which he reduced to 10.26 two weeks ago before the latest mark.
The meeting also saw Woodford’s Eugene Amo-Dadzie – dubbed the UK’s fastest accountant – clock 9.87 to go second on the UK all-time list, unfortunately too late for individual World Athletics Championship selection, although he travels to Tokyo as part of the sprint relay squad.
Kieran O’Hara comfortably won the Para Ambulant 1500m event at the Manchester International on Saturday with a time of 4.07.03, which saw him finish well clear of visually impaired runner-up Arthur Miles (St Mary’s Richmond).
