Harold Hill Judo Club youngsters took part in their first-ever competition at Tonbridge on Sunday, with plenty of success.

A squad of 13 travelled to Kent and came away with 13 medals, including golds for Reed Blanks, Albie Coker, David White, Callum Jackson, Billy Eastwood, Kimora Jean Pierre Pownall and Adam Murray.

Silver medals were won by Mia Eastwood, Megan Robinson, Vansh Merha and Paige Jackson, with Oliver Bartnik and Lewis Jackson adding bronzes.

Coach Bill Taylor was awarded his sixth dan red and white belt by the British Judo Assocation and said: “This year sees my 50th year as a BJA member and this is a fantastic way to celebrate.

“It was great to see these young players entering their first competition. They all tried their hardest and produced some lively judo.

“I’d like to thank Perry Blanks and Rosie Clarkson for their help and the parents for being great supporters.”
