Churchgoers are set to quiz election candidates on the issues which matter to them.

Churches Together Upminster, a group of Christian churches, is hosting a hustings event tonight at Gaynes School, in Brackendale Gardens.

The candidates standing for Hornchurch and Upminster are Paul Borg (BNP), Melanie Collins (Green Party), Paul McGeary (Labour), Jonathan Mitchell (Liberal Democrats), Kevin Nichols (Christian People’s Alliance), Dame Angela Watkinson (Conservative) and Lawrence Webb (Ukip).

The event will begin at 7.30pm.

Churches Together is made up of churches in Upminster, Cranham and North Ockendon which host events together throughout the year.
