A Harold Hill chef has turned his burger van into a moving Christmas tree with more than 3,5000 fairy lights.
Billy Zarb - owner of Burger Bills - decided last night (Tuesday, December 11) that he would bring a bit of colour to his usual plain white van.
“We go to lots of car shows and roadshows and just wanted to do something that would bring attention to the van” said the 33-year-old who has had his own business for just under a year.
Along with his partner Warren Samsa, Billy spent four hours covering his van in 3,200 multi-coloured lights, and is planning on adding at least another 300 to it before he drives around Harold Hill this evening.
The lights are plugged into the cigarette lighter in the van but need a power converter to stay on.
Billy said: “It’s just a bit of festive fun, we’re going to be driving around the area tonight before venturing further.
“We’ve had an amazing reaction on Facebook, we’ve had more than 700 likes and I’m hoping that tonight when we go out we get lots of attention.”
He said the van will return to normal after the festive period, and this is the first time he’s tried something like this.
“I’ve never done this before, so we will just have to wait and see what people say. “It will hopefully help promote the business, and then we can be known as the van with the fairy lights!” said the chef from Chatteris Avenue.
