Santa may have some competition this Christmas as a group of consultants have been doing their best to ensure every child gets a gift.

Adecco, South Street, Romford, has rounded up more than 100 presents from clients and staff to be given to the Salvation Army.

The gifts will go to Havering’s children in need who would otherwise have nothing to unwrap on Christmas morning.

Cllr Viddy Persaud, who is manager at the firm, said she was proud of her staff.

She said: “They are always inspired and motivated to support this worthy cause. We have had a fantastic response by our temporary workforce as well as local businesses.

“We always strive to support our local community in any way that we can.

“Thank you for all the donations received. This I am sure will make many of Havering’s children happy this Christmas.”

Viddy singled out client Costain, which is building Crossrail, where staff have donated more than 70 toys.

She added: “I was at the Carol Service on Sunday at the Salvation Army and I understand Family Mosaic have already collected and distributed a number of these toys for local families.”
