A fundraising Zumbathon has raised 1,700 for First Step.
The event in David Lloyd’s gym, in Squirrel’s Heath, was organised by mum and Zumba instructor Keely Spelling.
Keely’s son Teddy, three, started attending a weekly support group at First Step, in Tangmere Crescent, Hornchurch, last month with potential Asperger’s Syndrome.
She said after seeing the work of the children’s charity in Hornchurch she wanted to do the event to help raise money for vital services provided at the centre.
Keely, who teaches Zumba at the David Lloyd gym, ran the event with two of her colleagues Chris Roberts and Rhiannon Sparrow. It included two hours of Zumba, bongo players and music by DJ Jameson.
