Scenes of horror and suspense have emerged from Romford’s Mercury Mall following a zombie invasion.
The images captured by amateur filmmaker deputy manager, Spencer Hawken, will be shown on the big screen in July when his thriller Death Walks gets its premiere.
Spencer has been working on the zero budget production for three years.
He said: “We want the world and his wife to come and see the film because even though it’s great for those who have been involved in making it to watch it, we want those who don’t know what they are letting themselves in for as well.”
Hundreds of volunteers have given their time to creating the work, even filming and preparing scenes throughout the night.
Spencer attended a film-making course where he wrote a thriller No Reasons, to be shown later this year, and decided to create a second.
“I wrote Death Walks on a Sunday morning while I was on a bus on my iPad,” Spencer said.
“People told me that they liked the script so I thought I’d actually create it, using The Mercury Mall as a backdrop.
“The film was meant to set in summer but as time went on, Christmas decorations started going up so we had to fit it into the plot.”
After the movie premieres in Romford, Spencer intends on taking his creation to film festivals around the world.
He said: “I want people to talk about it because we know both the best films are spoken about and then success follows. Hopefully after enough people see it, they will starting telling others and get the ball rolling.”
Death Walks will be shown at Premiere Cinemas in The Mercury Mall on July 15 at 7.30pm
