A budding football star has shown the big boys how it’s done on the big stage after returning from a European tournament with two trophies.
Year seven student Finley Welch, who plays for Norwich U13s, won the Ford junior masters football tournament’s indoor and outdoor competitions, held in Cologne, on the weekend.
The Coopers Company and Coburn school student’s team saw off a number of German youth teams including FC Cologne and Wolfsburg.
The talented centre midfielder said it was a ‘fantastic opportunity’ and will be hoping the trophies will be the first of many.
“Competing in Europe was a fantastic opportunity and has provided me with valuable experience,” said Finley. “I feel really proud of the team’s achievement as we all worked so hard.”
