The work of young netball stars paid off after they were named, Havering champions.

Harris Academy Rainham’s Year 7 netball team won Havering Netball Rally, last week.

The Year 7 champions will now represent the borough at the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace on March 22.

The school’s head of girls PE, Carly Goodchild said: “The final was very tense. It was a draw after both full time and extra time, so it had to go to golden goal.

Despite the pressure, Team Harris never gave up and after several missed attempts from both sides the ball got to pupil Katie Perry who shot and scored.

PE teacher Sue Monk added: “The girls have trained hard and now it has paid off.”
