Entry for the Havering Business Awards is now open and the council’s experts will share tips about what the judges will be looking for in the 11 available categories.

Havering Council’s head of economic development, Tom Dobrashian, said: “We know many businesses are interested in entering the Havering Business Awards 2016 but they may not be sure what should be included on the entry form – coming to one of these workshops will help them.

“The sessions are being held at different times of day to try and suit the needs of different businesses. As well as guidance on completing the entry form and tips about what the judges will be looking for when shortlisting the entries and visiting the
finalists, there will also
be the chance to network with other local business people.

“We know from previous years’ entrants that the networking opportunities are very beneficial and that being shortlisted can significantly raise the profile of a business, giving them recognition that helps win new contracts.

“We hope as many Havering-based businesses as possible will book onto one of the workshops so they can benefit too.”

The free workshops will be held from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on Tuesday, from 9.30am to 12.30pm on May 25, from 5pm to 8pm on June 6 and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on June 16.

All four workshops will be held at Havering Town Hall, Main Road, Romford.

Entries must be submitted by Friday, June 24 and the winners will be announced during a ceremony at CEME Conference Centre, Rainham, on Friday, October 7.
