A woman in her 40s died after being hit by a train at Romford station.

Emergency services were called to the station shortly after 9pm on Friday (February 8) night to reports of a casualty on the track.

Paramedics attended however a woman in her 40s from London was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
