A woman is in a critical condition after being struck by lightning in Belhus Woods Country Park this morning.

The East of England Ambulance Service were alerted to the incident at 9.19am and sent one ambulance, a response car, a duty officer and the hazardous area response team.

The Hertfordshire Air Ambulance was also sent to the park.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said the woman was treated at the scene before being taken by land ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
