Havering Sixth Form College welcomed a furry ambassador for a local charity.
Whopper the rabbit wowed citizenship students at the Wingletye Lane college on Monday as part of a “citizenship campaign day” – during which the A-level students raised awareness and cash for Hornchurch Animal Rescue.
They organised activities for staff and students including a “pin the tail on the dog” contest, a bake sale, a charity car wash, quizzes, a basketball shoot-out and a raffle.
The charity’s founder, Donna Evans, accompanied Whopper.
Law and citizenship tutor Karla Parsons said: “The students chose Hornchurch Animal Rescue because they wanted to support a local charity and many of them were interested in focusing on an animal or pet-based group.”
