Hammers loan defender George McCartney insists that the arrival of Martin O’Neill as the new Sunderland boss makes no difference to his future
West Ham loan star George McCartney has confirmed there is no chance of him returning to Sunderland in January or any other time, despite the arrival of new boss Martin O’Neill at the Stadium of Light.
The 30-year-old Northern Ireland international, is on a season-long loan at Upton Park, and he says that is where he will be staying until the end of the Championship campaign.
“I haven’t spoken to the new manager,” he said. “To be honest, before I agreed to come to West Ham, it was decided that my contract would be left to run out in the summer and sorted out at the end of the season.
“So there is no chance of a call back and no chance of me ever going back to Sunderland.”
