Londoners are being warned to expect gale force winds of up to 70 miles per hour and heavy rain on Monday as Storm Imogen sweeps over Britain.
The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warning for the capital, which continues until 6pm this evening (Monday), and Londoners are being told to expect delays on the roads.
Met Office forecaster Craig Snell commented yesterday afternoon (Sunday): “We have issued a broad yellow warning of wind that encompasses Cardiff, Bristol and into the Thames Estuary. “This means people should be prepared for disruption to travel on roads, rail, bridges and ferries and we could see possible damage to structures and downed trees risk affecting power.
“The wind will be combined with some hefty showers.”
The winds are expected to reach 60 to 70 mile per hour speeds across the capital, accompanied by rain and a maximum temperature of 10 degrees celsius.
