Commuters across Havering were left angry this morning after trains were cancelled in fear of bad weather, despite there being no snow in parts of the borough.
C2c told the Recorder this morning that they weren’t able to bring back a full service at the last minute, and that their original timetable will run for the rest of today (Tuesday, February 27).
Yesterday c2c and Greater Anglia trains announced that they would be running a reduced service after a “severe weather warning” that has been dubbed as the ‘Beast from the East’ - however residents woke up this morning bemused at a lack of snow across Romford, Hornchurch and Gidea Park.
Services from the train company were reduced to two trains during off peak travel times, and four trains during peak times.
Long queues were spotted at Romford train station, and at Rainham station passengers have been unable to get onto trains because of overcrowding.

Romford MP Andrew Rosindell agreed with angry commuters and Tweeted: “This is simply unacceptable. So many people disrupted for no purpose today. @SadiqKhan @TfLRail and @networkrail owe my constituents an explanation and apology!”
A c2c spokesman told the Recorder this morning: “We have been advising passengers not to travel with c2c today since yesterday because we are only able to operate a limited service, to give people as much notice as possible to make alternative arrangements where they can.

“We have been working closely with Network Rail but are not able to bring back a full service at the last minute, so our special timetable will continue for the rest of today.
“We have also arranged ticket acceptance with local bus services and the district line to help more people who normally use c2c to get to and from work.”
“We will confirm planned details for tomorrow’s service as soon as possible today.”
