A woman is appealing for the owner of a lost ring her nan found on a bus to come forward.

Edie Davenport, 20, of St Mary’s Lane, Upminster, is hoping that someone will claim back the wedding ring her gran found when she was on a journey home.

She said: “This ring could really mean something to someone and I do wish that the person whose ring it is gets in contact. It would be a shame if they lost it forever.”

Edie’s nan, who is in her 60s, discovered the ring on a No 252 bus in Elm Park, on Sunday, at about 3.30pm. When she sat down, the ring was resting between two seats.

It is a plain gold band that is fairly tarnished and has an inscription inside which includes some initials and a date.

Edie has already been in contact with both bus operator Stagecoach and TfL to see if anyone has reported it missing, but no luck just as yet.

She said: “I am just trying to spread the word so that I can make sure this ring gets home.

“I would be devastated to have lost such a personal and sentimental item and can only imagine how this person must be feeling.”
