The organisers of the borough’s biggest musical festival will go before Havering Council today (Monday, February 12) to apply for a licence for this year’s event.

Papers submitted to the Havering licensing committee show that We Are FSTVL bosses have once again applied for permission to hold their four-day electronic dance music festival at Damyn’s Hall Aerodrome in Upminster.

The event, papers show, will open to the public at 10am on Friday, May 25, with campers allowed on-site until 2pm on Monday, May 28.

Should the licence be granted, live music would be allowed on the site until 3am on the Friday and Saturday nights, and 1.30am on Monday, although assurances have been made that no open-air stages will be playing live music after 11pm.

Havering Borough Police, the council’s environmental protection and health and safety sections and the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority have all raised objections to the proposed licence.

Visit romfordrecorder.co.uk on Monday afternoon to find out the committee’s decision.
