A man was hospitalised following an alleged assault outside the World’s Inn pub, in Romford, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police and an ambulance crew responded to reports of an assault in South Street at about 3.30am.

A 22-year-old Asian man was treated at the scene and transported to hospital with non-serious injuries.

Police have said that it is believed the assault stemmed from an earlier disagreement inside a nearby night club.

The suspects are believed to be two black males and two white females who made off through Havara Close into Exchange Street, police have said.

Havering CID are investigating the crime.
