Update: Injuries to Romford woman hit by train ‘not life-threatening’

A woman who survived being hit by a train at Romford station remains in hospital with serious injuries.

The 53-year-old, of Romford, was treated by paramedics on the track before being taken to hospital by air ambulance after the incident on Tuesday at 10am.

Her injuries are not said to be life-threatening.

The station was evacuated following the incident and all lines were blocked for much of the day.
