Two people were injured in a road traffic collision in Romford on Friday evening.

The crash involved a silver Saxo and a blue Ka and took place at the junction of Victoria Road and Mercury Gardens at about 10.50pm.

Fire crews from Hornchurch and Dagenham had to cut a trapped victim out of the Ka. The pair were taken by the London Ambulance Service to Queen’s Hospital, Romford. Police said their injuries were not life threatening.

The roads were reopened after about 50 minutes.
