Two people were taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Hornchurch on Saturday.
A four vehicle collision just after 3pm on the A127, close to the junction with Wingletye Lane, caused long delays in the area.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “Our staff treated two patients – a 35-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman - who were both taken to Queen’s Hospital as a priority, complaining of back pain.”
The vehicles involved in the collision were a blue Ford Escort, white Ford Fiesta, black Audi A3 and grey Ford Focus, a Havering Police spokesman said.
The London-bound carriageway was closed at 3.10pm, partially re-opened at 4.15pm and completely clear at 5pm.
